some archaeological remains of the ancient Greek city of Χερσόνησος – Chersonesus (or Khersonesos or Chersonese) – Херсонес of c. 500 B.C.
Known to the ancient world as Χερσόνησος – Chersonesus (or Khersonesos or Chersonese) – Херсонес, the medieval Greek rendition was contracted into to Χερσών – Cherson – Корсунь. These ruins, like the ancient Greek settlement itself, date to about 500 B.C.

Кримський Півострів – the Crimean Peninsula – Крымский Полуостров
Should this territory be under the sovereignty of Russia or the Ukraine? The present writer really does not know. On this first day of August in 2011 it was Ukrainian, and it does somehow seem connected to their land. And then there is the whole saga of Bolshevism, the Russian Civil War, forced collectivization of farms and the Holodomor, and if the atheist Revolutionary Jews are in first place on the hierarchy of guilt and blameworthiness for all of that, who is in second place, the Russian or the Ukrainian, and does it still matter in 2016? One thing must be clear to us all though. Whoever is guilty of the fratricidal Russian-Ukrainian XXI century war, be s/he American Neo-Con Jew, American "Liberal" Jew, Russian Клептократ-Kleptocrat or some home-grown corrupt plutocrat of the failed state of the Ukraine, such people are presently Hell-bound, and they better think on repentance and restitution in a hurry. And at all events, the Crimean Peninsula is one of the constituent territories of Європейське Християнство – European Christendom – Европейское Христианство. Perhaps all of our citizens and members who have failed to contribute where they could to making a reality of Об’єднане Європейське Християнство – United European Christendom – Объединённое Европейское Христианство can go ahead and count themselves as co-guilty for our present troubles.

Ах, черт возьми, почему бы не сделать доллар от братоубийства!
И мы, конечно, есть много бабуинов, чтобы купить этот медведь.
А вы посмотрите на множестве на этом!

Oh heck, why not make a buck off of fratricide!
And we certainly have plenty of baboons to buy this bear.
And did you take a look at the set on that one!

Well, what can one add?

(* 10 February 1776 (O.S.) Κέρκυρα–Corfu — Nafplio–Ναύπλιο, capital of the First Hellenic Republic 9 October 1831 † )
Perhaps a Greek national in the Russian diplomatic service of Emperor Alexander I is an unlikely candidate for hero of Swiss unity
and independence (after Napoleon's interventions). Kapodistrias later served (1816-1822), jointly with the Baltic-German
Count Karl Robert Nesselrode, as Russian foreign minister to Alexander I. Kapodistrias took a leading role in organizing support for
Greek Independence from the Muslim Ottoman Turks, though noteworthily without the support of the Russian State and her Orthodox Tsar.
Indeed one might view this as a counterbalance, a prelude and perhaps, in the minds of some, a justification for betrayals a generation
later when British, French and Sardinian Christian states sided with the Muslim Ottoman Turks in the Crimean War of X 1853 – II 1856.
Though of course one should add (i) that the Greeks did not manage to avoid internecine battles among themselves even as they
struggled to rid themselves of a 400-year-old Muslim yoke, with more of the same in the aftermath of doing so; and (ii) such chains of
recriminations can be endless, and they certainly do not support the struggle for United European Christendom, unless by the stratagem
of instilling some much-needed humility in us all. The first head of state (Κυβερνήτης – Governor) of the just liberated Greece,
Kapodistrias served for four and one-half years from May 1827 until his assassination by other Greeks (Maniots) on 9 October 1831.

The Charge of the Light Brigade

Half a league, half a league,
Half a league onward,
All in the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
"Forward, the Light Brigade!
"Charge for the guns!" he said:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.

"Forward, the Light Brigade!"
Was there a man dismay'd?
Not tho' the soldier knew
Someone had blunder'd:
Theirs not to make reply,
Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do and die:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.

Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon in front of them
Volley'd and thunder'd;
Storm'd at with shot and shell,
Boldly they rode and well,
Into the jaws of Death,
Into the mouth of Hell
Rode the six hundred.

Flash'd all their sabres bare,
Flash'd as they turn'd in air,
Sabring the gunners there,
Charging an army, while
All the world wonder'd:
Plunged in the battery-smoke
Right thro' the line they broke;
Cossack and Russian
Reel'd from the sabre stroke
Shatter'd and sunder'd.
Then they rode back, but not
Not the six hundred.

Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon behind them
Volley'd and thunder'd;
Storm'd at with shot and shell,
While horse and hero fell,
They that had fought so well
Came thro' the jaws of Death
Back from the mouth of Hell,
All that was left of them,
Left of six hundred.

When can their glory fade?
O the wild charge they made!
All the world wondered.
Honour the charge they made,
Honour the Light Brigade,
Noble six hundred.
