Now when it was day, they did not recognize the land, but they noticed a bay with a beach, on which they planned if possible to bring the ship ashore. So they cast off the anchors and left them in the sea, at the same time loosening the ropes that tied the rudders; then hoisting the foresail to the wind they made for the beach. But striking a shoal they ran the vessel aground; the bow stuck and remained immovable, and the stern was broken up by the surf. The soldiers’ plan was to kill the prisoners, lest any should swim away and escape; but the centurion, wishing to save Paul, kept them from carrying out their purpose. He ordered those who could swim to throw themselves overboard first and make for the land, and the rest on planks or on pieces of the ship. And so it was that all escaped to land. After we had escaped, we then learned that the island was called Malta. And the natives showed us unusual kindness, for they kindled a fire and welcomed us all, because it had begun to rain and was cold. Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks and put them on the fire, when a viper came out because of the heat and fastened on his hand. When the natives saw the creature hanging from his hand, they said to one another, “No doubt this man is a murderer. Though he has escaped from the sea, justice has not allowed him to live.” He, however, shook off the creature into the fire and suffered no harm. They waited, expecting him to swell up or suddenly fall down dead; but when they had waited a long time and saw no misfortune come to him, they changed their minds and said that he was a god. Now in the neighborhood of that place were lands belonging to the chief man of the island, named Publius, who received us and entertained us hospitably for three days. It happened that the father of Publius lay sick with fever and dysentery; and Paul visited him and prayed, and putting his hands on him healed him. And when this had taken place, the rest of the people on the island who had diseases also came and were cured. They presented many gifts to us; and when we sailed, they put on board whatever we needed. After three months we set sail in a ship which had wintered in the island, a ship of Alexandria, with the Twin Brothers as figurehead.

L-għan ewlieni ta’ din il-websajt huwa li nipprovdu u nxerrdu informazzjoni dwar il-film United European Christendom – Heal the Schism Now! (Kristjanità Ewropea Magħquda - Infejqu x-Xiżma Issa.) L-għan ewlieni ta’ dan il-film min-naħa tiegħu huwa li jagħti kontribut għar-riunifikazzjoni tal-Knisja Ortodossa-Kattolika u għat-twaqqif, jew it-twaqqif mill-ġdid, ta' unità ċivilizzazzjonali u integrità akbar fi ħdan il-Kristjanità, u nibdew mill-Kristjanità Ewropea. Dan il-film għandu l-ħsieb li jkellem lill-komunità tal-fidili Kristjani. Huwa importanti li ngħidu li Kristjanità Ewropea Magħquda - Infejqu x-Xiżma Issa huwa żewġ films aktar milli żewġ partijiet ta’ film wieħed, għaliex is-suġġetti ttrattati huma distinti wieħed mill-ieħor. Suġġett minnhom, il-Kristjanità Ewropea, huwa importanti ħafna. Is-suġġett l-ieħor, il-Knisja, huwa bla dubju aktar importanti. Wieħed m’għandux jistenna nuqqas ta’ kontradizzjonijiet apparenti fil-fehim ta’ kif il-komunità tal-fidili Nsara għandha tittratta dawn iż-żewġ kwistjonijiet.

L-ewwel parti li se nsejħulha l-ewwel film tipprova tittratta l-kwistjonijiet teoloġiċi, ekkleżjoloġiċi u kwistjonijiet oħra marbuta max-xiżma tal-ħames seklu fi ħdan il-Knisja u b’mod partikolari max-Xiżma l-Kbira fil-Knisja, li l-istorja tqegħidha fis-sena 1054 u li seħħet bejn id-disa' seklu u l-bidu tat-tlettax-il seklu u ’l quddiem. Minħabba l-kwistjonijiet involuti li jittrattaw it-taqbida tagħna biex nifhmu l-pjan t’Alla għall-Knisja Tiegħu, id-disputi ma jistgħux jitqiesu bħala mhux serji. Minħabba l-għarfien tal-Insara kollha tal-kmandament t’Alla lejn din l-unità riflessa b’mod tant ċar fl-Iskrittura Mqaddsa riprodotta fuq din il-websajt, id-disputi ma jistgħux jitqiesu bħala insormontabbli.

Ir-realtajiet kurrenti, kif ukoll il-kitbiet ta’ ħassieba ewlenin f’dawn l-oqsma u d-djalogu u l-programmi bejn ġerarki tal-Knisja, jissuġġerixxu li l-unifikazzjoni mill-ġdid hija possibbli fost il-Knejjes ta’ Tradizzjoni, dawk li żammew is-Sagrament- fuq kollox l-Ewkaristija - u s-Suċċessjoni Appostolika u l-ordinazzjoni valida tas-saċerdoti. Dawn li ġejjin, f’ordni miż-żgħir għall-kbir skont l-għadd ta’ persuni fil-komunitajiet tal-fidili, huma, (1) il-Knejjes Ortodossi Orjentali; (2) il-Knejjes Ortodossi li huma f’Komunjoni mal-Patrijarka Ekumeniku ta’ Kostantinopli; u (3) l-Knisja Kattolika. Ma' din il-lista maqbula bejn ħafna, l-awtur ta’ dan il-film iżid grupp ieħor. Filwaqt li l-Knejjes Ortodossi u l-Knisja Kattolika uffiċjalment jippruvaw jittrattaw mal-Knejjes f’dan il-grupp billi jevitaw li jittrattaw magħhom, anzi, kemm jista’ jkun, jinjoraw l-eżistenza tagħhom, dan ir-raba’ grupp nistgħu ngħidu li jinkludi dawk il-Knejjes Ortodossi tat-tradizzjoni Biżantina-Slava li mhumiex f'komunjoni mal-Patrijarka Ekumeniku ta' Kostantinopli. Il-Knisja Ortodossa Ukraina, il-Patrijarkat ta’ Kiev, hija biss l-ikbar waħda minn tant Knejjes li huma maqbuda f’din it-taħwida ekkleżjoloġika.

Minkejja li l-Prostestanti huma importanti għall-Kristjaneżmu, it-twelid tal-Protestantiżmu u l-ħafna qasmiet fil-Knisja tal-Punent, li bdew (b’xi eċċezzjonijiet żgħar) mis-seklu sittax 'il quddiem mhumiex parti minn dan l-ewwel film. Huma jagħmlu parti kbira mill-istorja li jirrakkonta t-“tieni” film.

It-tieni film jistieden lit-telespettatur jidħol f'introspezzjoni kulturali dwar kemm swiet il-firda ta’ bejn l-Insara. Essenzjalment huwa magħmul minn sensiela ta’ studji ta’ każijiet dwar il-prezz tax-Xiżma. Huwa wkoll jistieden lit-telespettatur biex jidħol f’attività ta’ spekulazzjoni dwar x’għandha tistenna l-Kristjanità, u nibdew mill-Kristjanità Ewropea, jekk tibqa’ s-sitwazzjoni ta’ firda bejn l-Insara. Kif taħseb li sejrin? Mexjin lejn id-direzzjoni t-tajba?

Nitolbuk terġa’ tqis din il-mistoqsija wara li tkun rajt il-film.

"Il-firda tikkontradixxi b’mod miftuħ ir-rieda ta’ Kristu, tipprovdi ostaklu għad-dinja, u toħloq dannu għall-aktar kawża qaddisa tat-tħabbir tal-Aħbar it-Tajba lil kull ħlejqa... Li temmen fi Kristu jfisser li tixtieq l-unità; li tixtieq l-unità jfisser li tixtieq il-Knisja; li tixtieq il-Knisja jfisser li tixtieq il-komunjoni tal-grazzja li tikkorrispondi mal-pjan t’Alla sa mill-bidu. Din hija t-tifsira tat-talba ta’ Kristu: 'Ut unum sint.'"

Russian Maltese heraldry on the Orthodox Metropolitan of Saint Petersburg

Michael Desnitsky Metropolitan of Saint Petersburg and Ladoga
A throne for Russian Emperor Павел I – Pavel (r. 1796 - 1801) in Versailles, probably stolen during the treacherous invasion of Napoleon's forces in June of 1798. After the Freemasonic French Revolution, of all temporal sovereigns in European Christendom Emperor Pavel (Paul) of Russia gave refuge to the greatest number of Knights Hospitaller now effectively exiled from Malta, crowning a tradition of cooperation extending back at least to the time of Peter the Great and the embassy of Field Marshal Boris Sheremetev to Malta in 1698. In 1799 the Orthodox Emperor Pavel was made the Grand Master of the Catholic Knights Hospitaller and the Maltese Order was introduced into the heraldry of the Russian Empire.
